Growing up among vineyards in one of Germany’s most renowned wine regions, Chrissi and Joshua are rooted in a culture where wine, friendship, and attention to detail go hand in hand. When they imagined their wedding, they brought that same mindset with them: thoughtful choices, carefully composed moments, and a clear idea of how they wanted their days to feel.
At Il Rigo, surrounded by their closest friends, this vision took form between long tables, shared bottles, golden evenings, and conversations that stretched late into the night. Every detail had its place, every scene its rhythm, filled with emotion, and real connection.
The result is a celebration that balances elegance and warmth, planning and presence, beauty and sincerity.

We wanted to celebrate a special, intimate and romantic wedding which reflects the characteristics of our love perfectly. As you can feel the passion for extraordinary food and drinks all over the country, Italy came into our minds immediately after our engagement. We love and identify ourselves with the pure nature which we enjoy every day in our home region along the German wine street, also called „German Tuscany“. This inspired us to look for a lovely little tuscan Agriturismo that stayed loyal to its natural and heartwarming beauty. This led us to Agriturismo Il Rigo where we stayed for a one-week vacation in October 2023 and it exceeded all of our expectations.
The day before - Pizza night

With choosing Il Rigo we chose our absolute dream wedding venue.
Although we had not been engaged at that time, we both started dreaming about getting married here, because during our vacation we simply fell in love with this amazing and unique place. The gentle hills of Tuscany, the golden light, the cypresses – Il Rigo is set in the midst of a dreamlike landscape. The attention to detail throughout the authentic estate is unmatched, and the atmosphere radiates an incredible sense of peace.
The cuisine is pure poetry – regional, fresh, creative, and prepared with great devotion.
The pizza from the wood-fired oven on the first evening was a highlight of its own: crisp, full of flavor, simply perfect. The green lasagna, followed by the slow-cooked beef, became the stars of the wedding dinner, each dish rich, comforting, and beautifully prepared. And on the third evening, the barbecue with Chianina beef rounded off the culinary experience in the most memorable way.The lovely owners, Luisa and Matthias, are warm-hearted and incredibly attentive. The same is true for the whole staff. You don’t feel like a guest, but like part of the family.

Wedding day
Our favorite moment was without question the ceremony beneath the pine trees, set against a breathtaking panorama that seemed to stretch endlessly into the horizon. From the emotional walk down the aisle to the celebratory exit, every second felt so perfect it was almost hard to believe it was real.
Even the stronger breeze that swept through only added to the magic — gently moving the dress and turning the entire scene into something even more romantic, like a moment lifted straight from a dream.

We are incredibly thankful that we were able to celebrate the wedding of our dreams.
