Still here, year after year — Ladina & Patrizio’s Summer Wedding and a small reflection

We’ve been hosting weddings for several years now.
From the very beginning, we felt the need to take some distance from most wedding venues in Tuscany.

Here, food, drinks, flowers, and decorations are prepared by us — grown, cooked, and sourced as locally as possible, often directly from our land. Everything is already here, rooted in this place.

Over time, we have found our people:
couples who value authenticity, sustainability, and human connection above perfection and excess.
Couples who understand that at Il Rigo cannot be transformed, as a blank canvas.

Every year, we add something small to what we offer, without changing its rural essence.
In a world that constantly asks you to reinvent yourself, it takes courage to choose continuity: to nurture what you have built, to strengthen it with structure, patience, and care.

When I look at the stories collected on this blog, I see this commitment reflected over time. I see consistency, quiet growth, and the nuances that make each celebration unique — within the solid, familiar, long-lasting frame of Il Rigo.

I hope you enjoy this new reportage from Marisa Locatelli Photography and these shared memories.
Another summer, another story, another unforgettable sunset on our hills.

Luisa

From the beginning Il Rigo felt perfect. The goal, the mindset, the idea to produce as much as you can locally and ethically fair was important to me.
It didn't feel like we were just another couple getting married at a typical wedding venue - it felt so intimate and familiar, which we really liked. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, we knew that this place is something very special.

We somehow ended up on the Il Rigo Website and it was love at first sight - from the small details like the perfect flowers, the decorations, the food, to the welcoming talk we had with Luisa - it all seemed perfect.

Wedding day - getting ready

I planned on wearing something very simple. But when I went dress-shopping; the guy in the store told me: you are getting married in Tuscany you need something special. So i went with a lace dress from Liluca Zurich with flowers on it. Patrizio chose a beige suite, which also fit perfectly. We didn't have any dress-code for bridesmaid and groomsmen - but all our guests dressed so beautifully and colorful!

I was in love with the flower arrangements and decorations at Il Rigo. I was so glad I didn't "have to” choose anything - we knew, no matter which color or what flower, it will look perfect and we were right. We let Luisa work her magic and it was a dream!

It’s so hard to choose a favorite moment in the day - but the wedding ceremony was so so special.

Beforehand I asked all the guests to join in when the band plays "Mi fido di te" to surprise Patrizio. So when we were standing there, in front of all our loved ones, the band started playing this beautiful Jovanotti Song and all our friends and family sang along - that was a magical moment.

Everything was excellent - but we fell in love with PICI! :-)
