Marine & Amar’s unstaged summer celebration

I’m very happy to share a new post—and a truly one-of-a-kind wedding reportage.

From the very first frames, Marine and Amar’s wedding feels suspended somewhere between past and present: intimate, sun-washed, effortlessly real. Shot by french photographer Marine Arborio, the images carry a rare softness and poetry—natural light, film textures, quiet gestures, and that unmistakable 1970s sensibility that makes everything feel lived-in rather than staged.

Looking at these photographs, one could almost believe they were taken decades ago—like the first family albums from Il Rigo in the 1980s and ’90s. The same honesty, the same warmth, the same feeling of time slowing down. It’s a wedding story told without performance, where beauty emerges from connection, movement, and light.

A celebration of love, friendship, and summer evenings in Tuscany—captured with a gaze that feels deeply nostalgic and yet entirely contemporary.

I’ll let the photographs, and the couple’s own words, guide you through this memory lane.

We had been joking about getting married in Italy for a while. We went to Florence 12 years ago for our first trip together, and we instantly fell in love with Italy. We came back regularly after that, and the idea to get married there started to take hold. After Amar proposed, we realized we both wanted our wedding to feel like a short vacation with our closest families and friends and no more than 40 people. Tuscany was a no-brainer.

Il Rigo was the most beautiful place we had found. It was perfect for 40 guests and they all could sleep there. The food was highly recommended which was one of our main requirements. And Luisa and Mathias’s sustainable approach to food, flowers, and weddings in general were in line with us.

We went there 10 months before the wedding to taste the food and meet Luisa and Mathias. It was even better than what we had imagined. Il Rigo is a truly magical place and Luisa and Mathias are the best hosts.

We wanted our wedding to be relaxed, focused on celebrating love in a beautiful place with amazing food and music, without turning into a performance

After a few fittings in Paris I had a crush on the Calder dress by Alice Dupraz-Toulouse. It was everything I was looking for : simple and yet striking, timeless and modern, comfortable, I felt great in it. And it gave me the chance to meet Alice, who is the kindest and most talented person. My shoes by Nomasei were so comfortable, it was perfect for Il Rigo’s dancefloor.

I did my makeup myself and had my maid of honor do my hair, I wanted to keep them natural.

Amar was very elegant in a suit by
Blandin & Delloye with a very italian vibe.

The bouquet and the flowers were absolutely beautiful, I had sent a few inspirational photos to Luisa with the colors and she nailed it. It was vibrant, colorful, and exactly that sunset vibe we were looking for. My mum made ceramic coasters and little ceramic vegetables for the table decorations and together with the flowers it was just perfect.

Our photographer, Marine Arborio, came from France and she was truly amazing. I fell by chance on a photo from her on Instagram which I instantly adored. And then the first contact with her was great. She has a very delicate eye for details and raw emotions. Her photos are so poetic, they have that kind of beautiful imperfections that I adore. Amar and I can’t stop looking at the photos and reliving that day since we received them, we are so grateful that we got to have her as our photographer.

When Matthias brought us our first cocktails was the beginning of an insane party during which leaving the dancefloor was impossible

Some stories don’t ask to be explained, only to be felt.
This one lingers quietly, like warm light at the end of the day or music drifting from an open window.

Marine and Amar’s wedding reminds us that when a place, a moment, and the people in it are allowed to be fully themselves, something timeless happens—without excess, without performance.

We’re grateful to have been part of it, and to hold these images as a small piece of Il Rigo’s ongoing story.

Luisa
