This winter I finally began a project that had lived in my mind for years: creating a garden at Poggio Bacoca. A windswept hilltop, endless views, heavy clay soil, little water — and the desire to shape something slowly, by hand, without forcing the land. Thoughts on gardening, patience, and letting a place grow in its own time.
